Cahill Earns Game Ball! Pitching and Catching!

Liam Cahill earned the game ball for his own team, the Shelton Mudhens, who won their game on June 4 at Sunnyside field.  Liam caught a fly ball from the mound for one of his outs.  He also caught and fielded a ball for another out at first base. He was hit in the mask by one pitch while he was catching in the later innings. Liam said it didn't even hurt. Liam got at least one single as well. Coach Dad and Coach Mike were very pleased.
The family celebrated with ice cream at Rita's afterward.  Lunch was postponed due to lack of interest.
Julia had fun playing with Stella and watching their brothers play. Uh oh.  Grandpa took home Stella's note pad.

The New York Mets played a good game at Marlins Stadium on Friday, June 3. They beat the Florida team 6-2.  James Loney got his first home run in a Mets uniform.
Noah Syndergaard pitched seven strong innings which ended with him throwing himself out of a jam.

Rene Rivera hit a two run homer in the 9th, which brought the Mets to their winning score, 6-2.  This was a good way to start their series against the Marlins.

The bad news is that David Wright is now on the DL, disabled list, and he will not be able to play for 6 to 8 weeks!  He has a herniated (her knee ate Ed) disc in his neck.  The other players will have to step up and use good teamwork until Wright returns. Collins said:   "Guys have got to start doing some things better..."
